这片海岸的异兽，是化了形的预兆。 蜚所过之处，足下之水立涸，身后之草尽枯，一场无医可名的瘟疫，如污渍般自它行经之路蔓延开来。它不必出手，待你望见它时，凡它所触，皆已在腐朽。 余峨山上的犰狳，也是如此。兔身鸟喙，蛇尾拖地。它所到之处，蝗虫铺天盖地相随。你总是先见那遮天的蝗云压境，才知它就在其中，而等你看清，一片好田早已只剩焦秆。 斩之，食其心，其力便归你所有。而它们一路带来的灾殃，也一并归你。 它们不是灾祸的先兆。它们，就是灾祸本身。
The beasts of this coast are omens given flesh. Wherever Fei passes, the water beneath its feet dries up and every blade of grass behind it withers. A plague with no known cure spreads along its path like a stain. By the time you see it, everything it has touched is already rotting. The Qiu Yu of Mount Yu'e is much the same. Shaped like a rabbit with a bird's beak and a serpent's tail, it travels with clouds of locusts in its wake. You see the swarm first, a dark mass blotting out the sky. By the time you find the Qiu Yu within it, a field that was green that morning has been stripped to bare stalks. Kill one and eat its heart, and its power becomes yours. So does the calamity it carries with it. They are not omens of disaster. They are the disaster itself.
