For Those Who Come After.
A fox with a pair of wings, its cry like the passing of wild geese overhead. It commands the clouds. At a gesture, pale grey mist gathers about it while rain clouds are driven a thousand miles off. Every storm cloud is cast away and scattered elsewhere, and so wherever the fox passes, the rains cease and the land goes dry. Men call it a great drought, never knowing a flying fox has driven every rain cloud from the sky. It cloaks itself in its own mist, vanishing into a shifting grey. No eye can pierce the veil, yet from within it sees you clearly. By the time you realise what hides in the fog, its wings have already burst through it, and the beast is upon you. Eat its heart and you inherit that command over cloud. You can summon mist from empty air to hide in, striking unseen from the grey. But the rain forsakes you too: clouds will not gather for you, rain will not fall where you stand. You can hide yourself from every eye, but never again keep a single drop of water.
