For Those Who Come After.
A leopard with a long tail, a human head, ox ears, and a single eye. When it bellows, its cry shakes the valley. When it walks, it holds its tail in its mouth. When it rests, it coils the tail around itself. It has only one eye. The other side is blind, the flaw it was born with. At rest, it winds the tail tight around its body, guarding the side it cannot see against a blade from the dark. That tail is the only thing that protects it. But the same tail is its weapon. To strike, it must first unwind the tail, take it in its mouth, and clamp down. The longer it bites, the deeper the charge, like a bow drawn to full. When it lets go, all that force releases at once: one blow that splits stone. The valley-shaking bellow is the sound of that release. Eat its heart and you gain that charged strike. But each time you gather it, one of your eyes goes dark; the longer you charge, the longer you stay blind. Its deadliest strike is bought only by baring the flaw that can kill it.
形如豹，身生长尾，人首牛耳，独目一只。它一啸，声震山谷。行走时衔尾于口，歇息时盘尾于身。 它只有一只眼，另一侧终生看不见，那盲侧是它天生的死穴。歇息时，它便将长尾牢牢盘在身上，替看不见的一侧挡去暗处的刀。这条尾，是它唯一的护身之物。 可这尾，也是它唯一的杀器。要出手，它须先解开缠身的尾，衔入口中死死咬住。咬得越久，那尾便蓄力越深，如满弓待发。松口的刹那，蓄势尽泄，一击之下山石俱裂，那声震谷的长啸，正是这一击迸发之音。 食其心者，得它这蓄力一击。可每当你凝神蓄力，一只眼便随之失明；蓄得越久，盲得越久。 它最凶的一击，偏要以敞开死穴为代价。
