Recorded Across Generations.
For Those Who Come After.
It bears the form of a man, with a tiger's tail. Wherever it walks, light gathers at its side. Men call it a god. It is no god, only a beast so mighty that mortals have no other name for it but divine. It reigns alone upon a single peak, summoning wind, rain, and thunder with a snap of its fingers. No blade forged by man has ever touched its flesh. The people below have worshipped it for generations, naming it the Lord of Mount He. They do not hunt it but bring offerings instead: livestock, grain, firstborn children. In return, it grants them a sliver of its power. Legends say whoever eats the heart of Taifeng gains dominion over the skies, commanding the winds and calling the storms. For a long time, hunters have pursued that power, but none has ever tasted its heart, for none has lived long enough to stand before the beast. Those who tried were not defeated. They were simply erased. And so the mountain remains its kingdom.
