For Those Who Come After.
Shaped like a wasp yet large as a duck, its venomous sting grown to match that monstrous size. They never hunt alone but roam in small packs, the most feared trial at the foot of Mount Kunlun. Those they sting do not die at once. They watch, wide-eyed, as they rot away inch by inch. Where the barb pierces, flesh begins to fester. The corruption spreads outward from the wound, slow and unrelenting. Should you fail to escape a pack of Qin Yuan, pray water or fire is close at hand. Only clean water washes away the venom, and only flame burns out what remains before the rot takes hold. Eat its heart, and that corruption gathers in your fingertips. Whatever your hand touches begins to rot. The longer your touch lingers, the deeper it spreads, until even bone softens and crumbles. But your hands cannot tell friend from foe. The one you reach for will wither beneath your touch, inch by inch. You can rot an enemy to nothing with a single touch but never again safely take the hand of someone you love.
