For Those Who Come After.
A tiger with nine tails, a human face, and a tiger's claws. Men call it a god. It is no god, only a beast that understands human speech. Upon the summit of Kunlun, it keeps watch beside Kai Ming Shou. It commands time itself. Within its domain, the hand you raise moves as though mired in mud; a single step takes half a day, and a falling blade takes a whole night to descend. Yet the beast walks freely through this frozen world, unhurried and at ease. Those trapped within it can only watch as it draws nearer, unable even to turn and flee, unable to even cry out. The nine wells on Mount Kunlun mark its bargain with those who climb the mountain. Follow the road it permits, and you may drink from the wells and take some of the power. But the bargain has one rule, and that rule is never written down. By the time you taste the water, you have already agreed to it. It has never laid a hand on those who followed the rules. The ones it tears apart are those who break them.
