A white deer with four horns. Everyone says the same thing: see Fuzhu, and the town will flood. So they named it an omen of water. But it never calls the water. The truth is that Hua She is hunting it. The human-faced serpent comes summoning the deluge, and where the water arrives, people catch only a glimpse of a white deer before it vanishes. They conclude the deer brought the flood. They mistook the hunter for a prophecy. Eat its heart and its escape becomes yours. At the edge of death, you disappear and surface elsewhere, untouched. But you have no say in where. The power throws you clear of ruin; it will not carry you anywhere you actually want to go. It will pull you out of death, and leave you stranded wherever it pleases.
形如白鹿，头生四角。 世人皆传，见夫诸者，其邑必逢大水，便称它为水之凶兆。可它从不召水。真相是：化蛇在猎它。那披着人面的蛇，唤着滔天之水一路追来。水到之处，人只瞥见一头白鹿转瞬即逝，便当是鹿引来了水。他们把猎手错认成了预言。 食其心者，得它一身脱逃之能。命悬一线之际，你倏然消失，安然重现于他处。可你无从择向。此能只将你甩离死境，绝不载你奔向所愿。 它能拉你脱离死地，却把你丢在它高兴的任何地方。
