For Those Who Come After.
Nine human heads upon the body of a dark blue-green serpent. It rarely attacks. It simply coils where it lies, letting poison seep from its body until the land for miles around becomes dead ground. The waters it inhabits turn to venom, and the air above them grows foul to breathe. Its blood is deadlier still. A single drop poisons a spring beyond recovery. Wherever it settles, the earth rots into poisoned marsh. Water lies clear yet kills whoever drinks it. All nine heads feed without pause, and whatever they swallow, flesh, plants, or even clean water, returns to the world as poison through nine mouths. Hunters of great skill have ventured into the Ruin in search of it. Not one returned. What its heart promises and what it demands in return, no living soul has ever come back to tell. And so it remains there, its nine heads buried deep within its own poison, waiting for the next.
九颗人头，长在一条深青蓝色的蛇身上。 它极少出手。只是盘踞在那里，任毒气自躯体里缓缓渗出，方圆之地便悄然化作死土。它所栖之水，尽化毒液；其上之气，腥恶难闻。它的血更烈，一滴便足以毒坏一眼泉，再难复生。凡它安身之处，土地皆烂成毒沼。水看着清澈，饮者立毙；土长不出五谷，却疯长着一切人手绝不该去碰的东西。 九颗头昼夜同食，从无停歇。凡被它吞下的，无论血肉、草木，还是清水，最终都化作剧毒，再由九张口吐还世间。曾有身怀绝技的猎人闯入这片乱葬岗寻它，无一生还。它的血肉究竟许下什么，又要人拿什么去换，至今没有一个活人说得清楚。 于是它仍在那里，九颗头深埋于自己的毒中，静候下一个。
